MOBILE PET GROOMING GENERAL MANAGER

With your patience, guidance, and passion for helping others, you’ll help to lead the operations of the grooming business—from head to tail! You’ll build relationships with clients, champion exceptional customer service, lead your associates, and drive results to grow the business.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As our Pet Grooming General Manager, you will:
● Onboard all new associates and groomers, ensuring their completion of all training requirements and annual safety certifications, any required certifications by the state, and ensuring that each groomer represents the brand in a positive way according to our standards.
● Ensure that groomers are performing dog grooming services to breed standards and to client’s personal preferences and hold your groomers to those same standards. Conduct periodic field rides with groomers to evaluate customer engagement and grooming execution. Cover shifts as necessary to not have to change appointments for customer satisfaction (commission included)
● Ensure the safety and well-being of every pet and groomer and take immediate action whenever necessary.
● Develop a local business growth and advertising strategy with other members of Furry Land and oversee its execution of it.
● Ensure that the vans being used for mobile grooming are being properly maintained, serviced, registered, and oversee any upkeep or repairs required to the vehicles.

Key Accountabilities
The incumbent must be able to consistently perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pet Parents and their Pets:
Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of animals by making sure all staff is following Furry Land standards, policies, and procedures. Exhibits a high-level interest in animal welfare. Ensure that all grooming staff follow pet parents’ instructions and/or Breed Profiles/Standards when clipping or trimming an animal’s coat. Provides courteous service to all clients by utilizing intent behaviors in the mobile salon. Reviews guest experience surveys & results as the General Manager and work with mobile salon staff to develop action plans.
Mobile Salon Operation:
Professionally manages staff who perform grooming services including brushing, bathing, ear and teeth cleaning, haircuts & trimming nails. Recruiting and hiring Grooming mobile groomers, and developing a team focused on building long-term guest relationships. Identifies and communicates all situations and/or conditions that negatively affect the Grooming mobile salon. Applies a talent management skill set within the scope of recruiting, hiring, training, work scheduling, coaching, safety procedures, and succession planning. Partner experiences focusing on the health & wellness of both the pet and the groomer.
Supervises the daily operations of the grooming mobile salon. Reviews all grooming partners’ paperwork(s) daily to ensure the proper sales are recorded on each pet and mobile salon. Orders supplies as necessary for the grooming mobile salon and properly maintains clippers, blades, and other hand tools required to perform grooming services. Assists with building the grooming business. Adheres to and promotes established safety procedures and maintenance of a clean, safe and healthy environment. Interacts professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with internal partners and external clients. Ensures that the mobile salon is staffed and properly trained to offer grooming services during all hours of operations, including days, evenings and weekends Meets grooming sales projections, controls expenses to meet the target, maintains daily and weekly records, schedules guest grooming appointments and assist in the preparation of bi-weekly work schedule. Analyzes reports to assess the state of the business and develops action plans to improve where needed to achieve targets and goals. Performs activities to maintain a knowledge and understanding of Mobile Sales, performance, and data.

Education and Experience
Minimum high school diploma (its equivalency i.e., GED) or equivalent work experience. Some college-level business/management courses are preferred. 3 years of experience in guest service roles is preferred but not required. Experience supervising partners, or demonstrating an aptitude for training, motivation and sales techniques, and analytical abilities is preferred. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in all breeds grooming is required. Experience monitoring and providing direction to Grooming partners is preferred. Previous supervisory experience and prior retail experience are preferred.
Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming mobile salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for long periods of time. A large amount of this partner’s time will be spent in direct contact with our clients and their dogs. The work environment can be noisy and wet. Improper use of safety equipment and/or not following proper lifting techniques may pose of risk of injury to customers and pets. Follow all safety precautions and procedures.
Contacts
This position has continuous contact with the public and regular contact and exchange of information with other departments both in the field and at the Support Center(s). Contact outside of Furry Land may be required to coordinate merchandise returns, ordering parts, mobile repairs, coordination of vaccination clinics, store events, vendor meetings, etc.
